Pai-Mo Chang's Log Concerto apartment in Taipei's Dazhi District has been honored with the Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award 2025, recognized for its seamless blend of modern, Oriental, and Continental aesthetics, premium materials, and inventive spatial solutions that celebrate natural vistas and upscale living.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Log Concerto apartment, designed by Pai-Mo Chang and located in Taipei's prestigious Dazhi District, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for its exceptional approach to interior space. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding mountainous landscape, the project artfully combines modern forms, Oriental influences, and Continental impressions to create a harmonious and eclectic living environment. Expansive windows frame the natural vistas, infusing every corner with light and tranquility while establishing the apartment as a premier urban residence.
Central to the design is a striking floor-to-ceiling wood cabinet that divides the living and dining areas. This feature, adorned with geometric engravings and five swivel screens, enables flexible sightlines and light flow, allowing residents to tailor the space for privacy or openness as desired. The interior is unified by the extensive use of premium Myanmar teak, meticulously selected and crafted to harmonize color and grain, and complemented by marble chevron-pattern flooring and titanium metal inlays. These elements reflect both the occupant's achievements and a dedication to craftsmanship, resulting in a refined yet inviting atmosphere.
The 248-square-meter apartment's entrance sets the tone with vibrant natural stones and elegant materials, while the shared spaces maximize cityscape and mountain views. Intricate joinery and thoughtful material continuity underscore the project's modernized contemporary ambiance. Overcoming the challenge of timber color variation, only the finest 40 percent of teak logs were chosen and restructured into new patterns, showcasing the designer's commitment to quality and innovation. The Log Concerto stands as a testament to multicultural design, technical excellence, and the enhancement of everyday living.
