Award-Winning Fairyland-Inspired Medical Cosmetic Clinic Design by Yi-Ling Chen Showcases Innovation and Comfort

Pay Des Fees Medical Cosmetic Clinic, designed by Yi-Ling Chen, has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located in Taoyan City, Taiwan, the clinic's interior draws inspiration from its butterfly logo, using flowing curves and soft, mist-like materials to create a dreamy, fairyland atmosphere. The project, completed in October 2023, emphasizes a balance between modernity, professionalism, and privacy, setting a new standard for medical cosmetic environments.

The clinic spans 737.1 square meters over two floors, featuring a reception hall, operating rooms, consultation spaces, and VIP treatment areas. The design prioritizes smooth circulation and privacy, with separate routes for staff and patients. Linear light strips, arranged irregularly along corridors, evoke a sense of moving through time, while matte and hazy materials envelop the space in a gentle ambiance. Lighting is meticulously planned: cold light ensures clarity in operating rooms, while warm tones in reception and lounge areas foster comfort and relaxation.

Yi-Ling Chen's approach incorporates environmentally friendly materials such as mineral paint, stone plastic composite flooring, and transparent glass, with a color palette dominated by beige, white, and cream. The design leverages natural lighting to enhance waiting and treatment areas, creating a soothing environment that eases patient anxiety. Staff benefit from ample storage and efficient circulation, while patients appreciate the calming aesthetics and privacy. The project overcame significant challenges, including space constraints and strict medical regulations, to deliver a space that is both beautiful and highly functional.

Pay Des Fees stands out for its unique combination of artistry and practicality. The interplay of curves, light, and soft textures creates a welcoming environment that reflects the clinic's dedication to elegance, health, and nature. The award recognizes the clinic's contribution to improving quality of life through thoughtful, resourceful design that meets the diverse needs of both patients and medical professionals.
