Haodong Liu's Xingshufu Banouet, a high-end Sichuan restaurant located in Shanghai's Global Financial Center, has been honored with the Platinum A' Design Award 2025 for its innovative blend of oriental aesthetics and modern design, setting a new benchmark for memorable dining spaces in the city.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Xingshufu Banouet, designed by renowned interior architect Haodong Liu, has been recognized with the prestigious Platinum A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award for 2025. Situated in Shanghai's Global Financial Center and adjacent to the city's iconic Jinmao Building and Shanghai Center, this 680-square-meter restaurant redefines high-end dining by integrating Sichuan culinary traditions with a visually striking, contemporary environment. The project was conceptualized in Torino and completed in Rimini between February and July 2023, reflecting a global approach to design and execution.
The restaurant's interior is distinguished by its thoughtful use of materials such as wood veneer, vintage and mirrored stainless steel, marble, leather, mosaic, and Malay paint, creating a layered and harmonious space. Liu's design strategy focuses on forming lasting impressions through spatial storytelling, leveraging form, color, and texture to establish a strong brand identity. By incorporating elements inspired by Bashu culture-ranging from natural scenery to historical motifs-the space not only delivers a refined visual experience but also conveys deep cultural heritage and emotional resonance.
Overcoming the challenge of balancing brand consistency with the need for innovation, Liu adopted a flexible design philosophy, ensuring each Xingshufu Banouet location can adapt to market trends while retaining its unique character. The result is a restaurant that stands out as one of Shanghai's most iconic dining destinations, offering guests an immersive journey through both contemporary and traditional influences. This award-winning project exemplifies how strategic interior design can elevate a brand and create enduring value in a competitive urban landscape.
