FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Award-Winning "Stacks" Residence Showcases Layered Minimalism and Wabi-Sabi Elegance in Miaoli, Taiwan

The "Stacks" project, designed by YU-HONG WU, has garnered the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located in Miaoli, Taiwan, this 82.645-square-meter residence reimagines the concept of home through a harmonious blend of minimalism, functionality, and the understated beauty of wabi-sabi. The design was completed in April 2023 and stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful spatial organization and material selection.

Inspired by the client's desire for a refined yet comfortable living space that caters to discerning audiovisual entertainment needs, "Stacks" employs a naturalistic approach that emphasizes the interplay of light and shadow. The project's signature theme of "stacks" is expressed through layered lines and surfaces, creating a visual narrative that is both calming and dynamic. Key features include a TV wall with curved corners and built-in cabinetry, an elevated kitchen island bar that seamlessly integrates plumbing, and a bathroom door with a chic grille partition screen. These elements not only enhance the home's aesthetic appeal but also improve its day-to-day functionality.

The open-plan studio layout maximizes the use of existing spatial dimensions, while the integration of eco-friendly materials-such as health-certified wood panels and artistic paint made from reservoir sludge-demonstrates a commitment to sustainability. The careful selection of a soothing color palette and natural textures cultivates a serene atmosphere, while the fluid movement lines and orderly grille details embody sophisticated simplicity. The project's technical innovations, including the elevated bar structure and upgraded electrical systems, address practical challenges and ensure a seamless living experience tailored to modern needs.

"Stacks" stands out for its ability to merge artistic vision with practical solutions, offering a living environment that is both immersive and environmentally conscious. The recognition by the A' Design Award highlights the project's excellence in integrating industry best practices, innovative design, and a deep respect for the client's lifestyle and values.
