Jacky Zhang's "Chen Yun" office project, completed in Hangzhou's renowned Tianmuli art incubator in September 2023, has been honored with the Silver A' Design Award 2025 for its groundbreaking approach to flexible, elegant workspace environments, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with cultural and natural elements to redefine the future of creative offices.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jacky Zhang, founder of WARP WEFT DESIGN, has received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award 2025 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for his latest project, "Chen Yun." Located in Hangzhou's Tianmuli, an art hub designed by Renzo Piano, the project reimagines the modern office by prioritizing flexibility, legibility, and a harmonious balance between work and leisure. Completed in September 2023, "Chen Yun" stands as a testament to Zhang's commitment to integrating aesthetic value with functional innovation.
The 100-square-meter office space features a classic glass curtain wall, merging the interior with the surrounding natural landscape and capturing the dynamic interplay of light, shadow, and daily activity. The design utilizes fair-faced concrete and carefully curated furniture colors to evoke a sense of serenity and creativity, resonating with the emotional needs of its users. A key highlight is the movable wall, which allows for seamless transitions between private and communal spaces, supporting a variety of work modes and fostering a tranquil yet dynamic environment.
Inspired by the evolving needs of business owners and creative professionals, Zhang's design blurs the boundaries between work, discussion, and relaxation. By embracing the original contours of the building while introducing flexible spatial divisions, "Chen Yun" offers a versatile setting that adapts to changing requirements throughout the day. This innovative approach not only maximizes the potential of limited space but also provides a blueprint for the future of office environments, where autonomy, collaboration, and well-being are at the forefront.
