FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waterfrom Design, under the leadership of Nic Lee, presents "Partial of Style," a residential house in Haimen, China, inspired by the enduring Western styles found in the Shanghai Concession. This project aims to recreate the depth and elegance of the alleys and houses of Shili Yangchang, utilizing contemporary materials to connect with the past and evoke an enchanting atmosphere from the 1950s and 1960s.
The design team, including Nic Lee, Richard Kuo, Wilson, and Lucy Lin, meticulously incorporated materials such as serpentine, marble, walnut, and brass to pay homage to the region's history and art. The space, spanning 195m2, features a living room, dining room, kitchen, study area, master room, and bathroom, showcasing a harmonious blend of Chinese and Western past.
Constructed between 2020.02 and 2020.04, "Partial of Style" is a testament to Waterfrom Design's commitment to creating spaces that celebrate local heritage while embracing modernity. The project received the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its practical and innovative design that meets professional and industrial requirements.
