Florian Studer's The Atticum

Florian Studer's The Atticum is a unique 1,000 square meter restaurant bar rooftop located in Switzerland, designed to reflect the industrial history of the Schips company, specializing in textile production machinery. The architecture and furnishings capture the charm of an industrial environment, featuring a show kitchen glazed to the guest area and a central regulars' table illuminated by a specially manufactured lamp made of copper pans. The design also incorporates warm oak wood, hand-planed herringbone parquet, and a fully planted wall behind wired glass, contrasting the cold elements of raw steel and muntin windows.

The planning for The Atticum began in 2015, with the grand opening taking place in November 2019. The design team, including Studer Innen & Architektur Stans, Architekturbüro Desarc Tübach, and Linea Zappa Contract Giussano, contributed to the realization of this exceptional project. The location on the roof was created to be a meeting place for people of all ages, offering a place to escape from everyday life and feel at home among friends, with a focus on local guests and simple dishes made from regional products.

Florian Studer's office has gained recognition in the Swiss interior design scene, with a focus on optimizing projects in the gastronomic sector. The Atticum's design has been awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding expertise and innovation in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
