Award-winning designer Xiaobo Ye unveils Yufengyuan, a unique restaurant design inspired by the cultural elements of the Yellow River
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Xiaobo Ye, along with his design team, has unveiled Yufengyuan, a remarkable restaurant design that takes visitors on a cultural journey along the Yellow River. The 1100 square meter space in Zhengzhou, China, is a testament to the team's dedication to presenting a unique design concept, incorporating elements of the Yellow River into the very fabric of the restaurant.
The design features a 50-meter-long passage that follows the track of the Yellow River, with eight metal boxes of varying heights attached along the passage. Each metal box represents a family and is named after a kind of insect, such as butterfly, frog, or bee, with unique finishing to reflect the characteristics of each insect. The designers have lifted all the boxes to give visitors a sense of ritual upon entering.
The main materials used in this project include terrazzo, steel plate, bamboo, and latex paint, reflecting the team's commitment to realizing their vision through a blend of traditional and modern techniques. The project, which began in March 2019 and concluded in December 2019, is a testament to the team's dedication to bringing their cultural expression to life.
