a+ design group unveils The Landmark, a major new development set to revitalize Sydney's suburb St Leonards with a mix of residential, commercial, and retail spaces, offering unparalleled views and sustainable design.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
a+ design group has unveiled The Landmark, a major new development proposed for the Lower North Shore of Sydney, Australia. The project, set to commence construction in mid-2018, aims to revitalize the St Leonards area as part of the local Council's strategy for major urban renewal. The Landmark will be a key part of a connected St Leonards that links community, commercial, and residential precincts.
The Landmark is designed to respond contextually to its urban setting, providing opportunities for social gathering and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors. The tower has been strategically oriented to provide breathtaking views in all directions, with sustainability considerations integrated into its design from day one.
Featuring a mix of residential, commercial, and retail spaces, The Landmark will offer approximately 480 sophisticated residential apartments, modern commercial office space, and new activated retail shopping at ground level. The development will also include amenities such as a pool, gym, and easy access to the Sydney CBD, along with a newly activated laneway connecting St Leonards station into Friedlander Place and Nicholson Lane.
The Landmark's design team, led by a+ design group, includes Tony Leung, Karen Chow, Bing Qi, Eric Ly, and Arturo Castro Alvial. The project, which began its design phase in 2015, is a testament to the firm's collaborative and iterative approach to knowledge creation in architecture.
Recognizing its outstanding design, The Landmark was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2020, reflecting the project's remarkable contribution to art, science, design, and technology.
