FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

K11 Musea: A Silicon Valley of Culture

K11 Musea, located in Hong Kong's Victoria Dockside, is a ten-storey retail-and-art complex designed to appeal to brand-savvy millennials. The project, spearheaded by Adrian Cheng, the founder of K11 Group, and Executive Vice-Chairman of New World Development, involved collaboration with 100 creative powers from various disciplines and cultures. The design team, including AB concept, KPF, Laab & Speirs, and Major, worked tirelessly to defy traditional concepts of retail design and create a seamless ecosystem.

The 1.1 million square feet space features the Opera Theatre, a 35m high atrium with hundreds of programmable spotlights resembling a galaxy, evoking curiosity and creativity. The design incorporates rainwater harvesting, seawater-cooled, oil-free HVAC systems, and gained LEED Gold and BEAM Plus Gold Standard certifications for sustainability.

K11 Musea took ten years, from 2009 to 2019, to come to fruition and is the final segment of the ambitious US$2.6 billion Victoria Dockside cultural district on a 28-hectare site on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. The project has received the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its exceptional and highly innovative design that contributes to societal wellbeing.
