Adrian Chan's latest project, "Block," redefines office functionality with a design inspired by the Prairie School architectural style, offering a solution for maximizing space efficiency and flexibility.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Adrian Chan's "Block" office design draws inspiration from the 19th-century architectural style Prairie School, leveraging horizontal emphasis to expand space functionality. The project, completed in June 2019, addresses the challenges of a small enclosure (41sqm) and low ceilings (7 ft 4 in) to create an open and interactive workspace.
The office design features a series of floating functional blocks, serving as essential elements for various functions such as food and beverage, printing, and storage. The use of warm, textural materials like light oak, copper, and calacatta marble enhances the inviting atmosphere while ensuring sustainability.
With a focus on flexibility, the space accommodates a wide range of functions, from team huddles to training events, while providing privacy and maximizing spatial efficiency. The entry foyer doubles as a reception, huddle space, training room, and cocktail area, while the backroom serves as storage and a private relaxation pod.
