Wallich Showflat: A Vision of Boundless Sky and Heritage

Chef Khiang Low's Wallich project, a 2-bedroom in-situ showflat for young professionals, is a vision of a castle in the clouds, inspired by the building's namesake botanist Nathaniel Wallich and the surrounding heritage-rich shophouses. The apartment features a light color scheme, full-height windows, and gentle curves that create a bright, open, and embracing space.

The built-in carpentry was designed to be cost-efficient, using readily available materials in the local market. The design emphasizes sustainability and durability, with a focus on minimal wastage. The apartment spans 117 square meters and was completed in December 2021.

This exceptional design won the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023 for its outstanding creativity, technical skill, and contribution to improving quality of life.
