Discover the innovative office design project "Floating Box" by TENG-SYU TSENG, completed in November 2020 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TENG-SYU TSENG's "Floating Box" is a groundbreaking office design project that redefines the use of space and materials. Utilizing steel wire, wood, iron, and other lightweight materials, the design team created a visually stunning and functional office space. The use of steel wire to support the suspended hollow staircase shapes the perspective vision of the imaginary surface, defining public and private areas horizontally and vertically with black glass.
This 50-square meter office space showcases the innovative use of materials, with the TV wall using natural cement plain color concrete to highlight the pure appearance of the material. The design team's focus on lightweight materials, visual penetration, and low tone colors sets "Floating Box" apart from traditional office designs.
The project overcame challenges related to space constraints and ceiling height, utilizing an open technique to design the ceiling and creating a double-layer office space with a mezzanine approach. The use of steel wire cantilevered hollow stairs creates a visually penetrating "imaginary" surface, preventing visual oppression and movement within the space.
