Studio Mk27 introduces the Patina Maldives, a contemporary, classic, and elegant hotel project that harmoniously integrates with the natural surroundings of the Maldives, offering a unique living experience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Studio Mk27 has unveiled the Patina Maldives, a hotel project that humbly filters the lights and frames the views, creating different narratives within the magnificent surroundings of the Maldives. The architecture of the hotel is designed to be much less important than nature itself, providing a welcoming space for people to live lightly and amplify natural feelings in a dreamy state.
The hotel's architectural lines are delicately designed to respect the surroundings, providing shadows and coziness while capturing and amplifying the landscape's strength. All buildings are visually permeable, dematerialized, and put life and humanity at the center of the experience, speaking low and elegantly without breaking the horizon.
From the thoughtful use of wooden structures to the choice of natural materials such as stones, sticks, and fibers, the Patina Maldives buildings enhance the connection with nature, place, and culture. The project, which started in 2016 and lasted for two years, was based in São Paulo, Brazil, with the collaboration of a local architect in the Maldives. Construction began a year into the project and was completed in 2021.
Recognized for its outstanding expertise and innovation, the Patina Maldives project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023 for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
