Doveil's Experience Center, Designed by David Lee, Wins Silver in A' Design Award 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Doveil's new experience exhibition hall, designed by David Lee, draws inspiration from the pure abstract concept of art master Piet Mondrian. The space covers 800 square meters and is located in Xiamen, China. The project began in March 2019 and was completed in June 2019. The design team aimed to create a space with great depth and rich layers, embodying the brand's spirit and values.
The exhibition hall features a seven-meter-high void at the entrance, creating a sense of momentum and ritual. The design utilizes rock slabs for display props and space decoration, echoing Mondrian's iconic grid paintings. The space is designed to connect in series, enhancing the flow and harmony between different areas.
Despite structural challenges, the design team respected the original space by leaving a crossbeam in the front hall exposed, embracing the strength of concrete. The boundary hole and window connections create dynamic interworking, breaking the static space of binary opposition and fostering communication.
The exhibition hall won the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence. The design perfectly reflects Doveil's commitment to minimalism, perfection, and ingenuity.
