Arkadia Works introduces "The Sea Waves" design concept for Pertamina International Shipping office, inspired by the identity of Asia's leading shipping company that bridges marine logistics to encourage Indonesian economic growth.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arkadia Works has unveiled "The Sea Waves" design concept for the Pertamina International Shipping office, located at Grha Pertamina Office Tower in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 1,400sqm office space, designed for 109 staff, reflects a sleek modern-contemporary style with wooden and marine elements, inspired by Pertamina International Shipping's identity as a leading company in marine logistics.
The design concept integrates basic shapes and visuals of waves, ships, oceans, and other marine elements, combined with bright colors to create a modern-contemporary style. The interior maritime concept is showcased through the wavy ceiling, blue colors, ocean depth graphics, and lighting ornaments, representing the company's commitment to bridging marine logistics.
Arkadia Works applied a sleek modern-contemporary style by incorporating bright impressions with marine elements such as waves, ships, and ocean graphics. The use of responsible suppliers for materials, including wooden elements and environmentally friendly rattan furniture, reflects the company's dedication to sustainable design.
The office space also features a Pantry Area ceiling with batik accents, adding a local Indonesian cultural touch to the design. The seamless integration of marine elements, local cultural influences, and modern design principles creates a unique and vibrant workspace for Pertamina International Shipping.
Throughout the design, Arkadia Works aimed to create a seamless wall, ceiling, and louvers divider with a wavy accent, bringing a marine impression into the office. The Reception Area incorporates oceanic elements, while the Pantry Area is designed with traditional Indonesian batik accents, recognized by UNESCO.
The "Sea Waves" design concept was realized over a project duration from March 22, 2021, to June 21, 2021, at the Grha Pertamina Office Tower in Jakarta, Indonesia. The design concept reflects extensive research and creative efforts to combine modern-contemporary design with marine and local cultural elements, overcoming various technical and creative challenges along the way.

The team's commitment to integrating modern design with traditional Javanese culture has earned them accolades, including the Iron A' Design Award in 2022 for the "Sea Waves" design concept.
