Architect Carlos Zwick's Passive House, Haus Am See

Architect Carlos Zwick's Haus Am See is a stunning residential house that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. The architectural concept pays homage to the historical roots of the location, floating above terraces and respecting the space and form. The house treats nature with the utmost respect, with interior and exterior spaces seemingly merging. The large crowns of ancient trees envelop the modern tree house, creating a harmonious blend of old and new.

The house, with a living area of 610 m², features a steel skeleton standing on 40 diagonal stilts spread across 10 individual foundations. The interior boasts built-in cabinets and 3-meter high sliding windows facing the lake. The house is designed to be easily divisible into three units, offering flexibility for future needs.

The project, which started in 2016, presented unique challenges due to the large tree population on the property. The entire building was assembled in sections using a telescopic forklift, and the infrastructure was carefully integrated into the weight-bearing ceiling structure. The result is a passive house with sustainable building materials that seamlessly integrates into its surroundings, offering a unique living experience.
