Renowned designers Yingjie Lin and Yuanyuan Zhang bring to life the historical charm of Chengdu Dongmen Wharf through innovative renovation

Renowned designers Yingjie Lin and Yuanyuan Zhang have unveiled the remarkable renovation of Chengdu Dongmen Wharf, a project that aims to restore the former elegance of the wharf and the "life of poetry and wine" in Chengdu. The wharf, developed during the Tang and Song dynasties, has been brought back to life through the innovative use of modern structure and materials, including lightweight steel, glass curtain walls, transparent LED screens, and dynamic lighting.
The project covers an area of 5,800 ã¡ and is located in Chengdu, China. The renovation, which began in October 2018, is set to be completed in June 2019. Through the integration of the original wharf and its surrounding resources, the designers have created a coherent, integral, and sustainable situational wharf space, offering a historical and cultural experience in line with the modern city.
Yingjie Lin and Yuanyuan Zhang's exceptional work on the Chengdu Dongmen Wharf Renovation has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020. This accolade celebrates their outstanding expertise and innovation in reviving historical sites through art and new technology, introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder to visitors.
