Discover the innovative 'living' interior design of the 199m2 art exhibition space, aiming to reignite local culture and nature appreciation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Xiaowei Liu, in collaboration with Linying Jiang, has unveiled a groundbreaking art exhibition space in Panyu district, Guangzhou, China. The project aims to revive the diminishing local culture by integrating contemporary art into the community through a unique 'living' interior design.
The innovative aspect of the design lies in its transformation of the designers' experiences into separate pictures, assembled into a physical structure within the art space. This approach fosters interactive engagement between the architecture and visitors, offering a distinctive and immersive experience for individuals of all ages and genders.
Inspired by the culture of Panyu, the art space is built within a local arts center, utilizing sustainable and locally characteristic building materials such as old red bricks, cement, and wood. The project successfully conveys the designers' exploration experience in Panyu into architectural form and structure, promoting open space and minimalism.
The XLXN Lifestyle Art Space project, initiated in November 2021 and completed in January 2022, has received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and innovation in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
