Award-winning designer Joe Chen transforms a 1920s Art Deco villa into a luxurious, modern holiday residence in Taiwan.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Joe Chen has reimagined a 1920s Art Deco villa, infusing it with a modern twist to create the stunning Nuanced Light residential house. The project, located in Taiwan, began in August 2017 and was completed in February 2018. Chen's inspiration for the design stemmed from the radiant lines and patterns of the Art Deco era, which have been transformed into a three-dimensional, functional space.
The Nuanced Light design boasts unique properties that set it apart from traditional Art Deco styles. Chen has skillfully balanced the iconic Art Deco style with individualized softness, creating a multi-layered, magnificent cladding that exudes grandeur while meeting the needs of a modern holiday villa.
Utilizing advanced technology and meticulous attention to detail, the design features repetitive geometric patterns on wall decorations and light fixtures, drawing inspiration from the reductive decoration motif of 1920s New York architecture. The result is a luxurious space that seamlessly blends western aesthetics with oriental equilibrium, creating a harmonious and visually striking environment.
