Ann Yu Transforms 1950s Granaries into a Modern Civic Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Guangzhou Julong Bay Exhibition Center: A Beacon of History and Innovation

Located on the west bank of the Pearl River, the Guangzhou Julong Bay Exhibition Center stands as a testament to the city's industrial past while embracing a contemporary significance. Ann Yu, the creative mind behind this transformation, has successfully repurposed the original 1950s granaries into a city-planning exhibition hall and civic center, encouraging the rebirth of the old district.

The project, part of the city government's renewal master plan, seamlessly integrates the old with the new, utilizing a large-span steel frame and full-slope glass curtain wall system. The design's unique use of handmade bricks and a canopy of glass and steel structure creates a connected inner space for the new massive building, allowing for flexible usage and a harmonious blend of modern and traditional elements.

Recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2023, the Guangzhou Julong Bay Exhibition Center sets a new standard for conservation and revitalization of old buildings, serving as a beacon to investors, developers, and citizens alike.
