Ming Ju Hsieh's Mumi Cafe, a 100% Korean-style cafe, stands out in Taipei
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ming Ju Hsieh's Mumi Cafe, located near Dai-An Station in Taipei, is a unique 100% Korean-style cafe that brings the essence of Korean culture to Taiwan. The cafe's interior design, inspired by Korean aesthetics, features a simple and country style with white as the main tone, creating a romantic and exotic ambiance.
The cafe's owner, a Chinese Korean working in the food and beverage industry, aimed to provide customers with an authentic Korean experience without traveling abroad. The design incorporates elements such as Korean tableware and accessories, creating a space that reflects the typical Korean vision and taste.
The cafe's unique features include a big glass window covered with an ironed-like arc frame, creating a simple and unique window view. The English brand name on the door complements the warm exotic retro appearance. The interior, spanning 200 square meters, boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere with light brown carpets and long wood benches.
The design team paid attention to safety, incorporating glass-covered wood handrails for stairs and creating a traffic line that ensures a comfortable and secure environment for customers. The ceiling lamps and rattan plaited chairs contribute to the cafe's Korean drama-like space, evoking a retro, energetic, and cute atmosphere.
Despite challenges in bringing Korean cafe decoration to Taiwan, the design team overcame obstacles related to construction and materials, ensuring the cafe's longevity and protection against Taiwan's hot and humid climate. The cafe's unique style and attention to detail earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design.
Mumi Cafe, designed by Ming Ju Hsieh, has successfully created a 100% Korean-style cafe in Taipei, offering customers an immersive experience in Korean culture and aesthetics.
