Slab Hill: A New Architectural Prototype

Greentown China Holdings Limited, a leading property developer, unveils "Slab Hill," a revolutionary architectural prototype that integrates fractal geometry inspired by nature. The design embodies a dialogue with nature, creating a spatial unit with "self-similarity" to mimic natural growth, offering a unique living experience.

The "Slab Hill" design stands out with its restoration of the basic unit through architectural forms and structural expressions. By eliminating interior walls and implementing a free, flowing spatial reorganization, the design offers a non-daily experience of the landscape within an urban environment.

Constructed using innovative GRC material texture and earthy colors, "Slab Hill" underwent meticulous computer simulations, 3D printing, and physical prototyping to achieve a cascading texture, ensuring a seamless blend with its natural surroundings.

Spanning an area of 2071 sqm, the design features a glass curtain wall supported by T-beams and interior partitions clad in mirror stainless steel, creating a visually stunning and structurally sound architectural marvel.

The "Slab Hill" project, led by Chief Architect Zhu Peidong and the design team at line+ and gad, was completed in August 2021 in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.

Greentown China Holdings Limited's "Slab Hill" design was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its exceptional contribution to architecture, building, and structure design.
