Jinxiu Restaurant Design by Anfei Ge

Anfei Ge, a young interior designer from Beijing, China, has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award for her exceptional work on the Jinxiu Restaurant project. The design, completed in December 2018 in Nanjing, beautifully captures the essence of Chinese cultural characteristics and modern simplicity, incorporating oriental elements and Jiangnan garden inspiration to create a unique and immersive dining experience.

Spanning 400 square meters, the Jinxiu Restaurant is located within a commercial complex, presenting the challenge of integrating column structures into the layout. Ge's innovative approach involved utilizing Chinese architectural methods to incorporate the original column structures, creating a hierarchical and focused space that enhances the flow and arrangement of dining seats.

The design's realization technology showcases Ge's attention to detail, as sea base cloth was used as the wall material, providing both cost-saving benefits and the necessary texture for the design. Additionally, the use of waterproof latex paint ensures easy maintenance, making it ideal for restaurant projects.

Ge's dedication to the project is evident in the meticulous hand-finishing of all wall colors on-site, as well as the custom-made, waterproof, and oil-proof cloth furniture systems. Overcoming challenges such as the waterscape design and waterproofing issues, Ge's design successfully captures the essence of Jiangnan gardens, creating a visually stunning and culturally immersive dining space.
