Renowned designer Yalan Zheng introduces Painted Skin, a unique neo-classical tattoo shop in Chengdu, blending old and new school tattoo styles in a rich retro space.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yalan Zheng's Painted Skin is a fusion of old and new school tattoo styles, drawing inspiration from traditional American totem symbols. The 240-square meter space features a neoclassical dark style, with VIP areas named the Mirror Palace and the Cave. The design theme reflects the shop's purpose, creating a dialogue between architecture and space at an artistic and human level.
The space boasts elegant and magnificent tones of the Rococo period, seamlessly integrating furniture styles from Van Der Rohe. Notable features include a steel mermaid hanging in the corridor, a mysterious and curved space, and a handmade skeleton chandelier. The project, which began in February 2018, was completed in July 2019 in Chengdu.
Yalan Zheng's design is a recipient of the Golden A' Design Award in 2020, recognized for its outstanding and trendsetting creation in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
