Ho-House by Katsufumi Kubota

Katsufumi Kubota's Ho-House is a testament to the innovative approach to architecture. The design inspiration, drawn from the vastness of the sky and the relationship between nature and the mind, led to the creation of a space that merges with the universe.

The unique properties of Ho-House lie in the creation of space through folding thin slabs, shifting the axis of sensory interpretation from figurative to abstract, and deepening the understanding of formless events. The building's interaction with nature facilitates an inside-outside continuity, merging the two into one.

Constructed using reinforced concrete, the Ho-House spans a site area of 306.99 m2, with a building area of 152.63 m2 and a total floor area of 217.42m2. The design team, including Katsufumi Kubota, Kazuya Toizaki, Kazu Kubota, Masayuki Kubota, and Naoya Yuda, worked tirelessly to realize this architectural marvel.

The Ho-House, completed in 2020, offers a private space with a courtyard terrace, seamlessly connecting various areas of the house. The design, a winner of the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, stands as a symbol of architectural excellence and innovation.
