Contemporary Mix: Redefining Residential Spaces

Thiago Mondini's "Contemporary Mix" project is a remarkable renovation of a 1990s residential apartment, where virtually all the walls were demolished to create an integrated living-dining-family room. The design inspiration stemmed from the client's extensive collection of antiquities and family memorabilia, leading to a neutral white base to harmonize the contemporary setting with traditional elements.

The project's unique feature lies in the balanced fusion of furniture from different styles, creating a captivating blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Notably, the use of natural ornamental rocks from Brazil adds a distinctive touch to the space, with a large panel of backlit translucent Patagonia quartzite serving as a stunning centerpiece.

Spanning 400 square meters, the extended living room area covers 180 square meters, offering a spacious yet intimate setting for daily living and hosting guests. The design seamlessly integrates various functional areas, creating a visually balanced and inviting environment.

Thiago Mondini's "Contemporary Mix" project posed several challenges, including the integration of diverse antique and contemporary elements. However, through meticulous curation and a keen eye for balance, Mondini successfully achieved a grand yet warm ambiance, where the client's personal belongings coexist harmoniously with fresh contemporary furnishings and decor.
