Linkform Design presents Aplus, a seafood bar and restaurant project by Kung-Chao Huang, completed in Taipei in June 2018, blending western and eastern cultures to create a dynamic ocean-inspired atmosphere.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Linkform Design, led by Kung-Chao Huang, has unveiled Aplus, a 4520 square feet seafood bar and restaurant project in Taipei, completed in June 2018. The concept was inspired by the ocean, with the design aiming to express the liveliness of the ocean by creating a dynamic environment to give life to the seafood restaurant. The project used the projection of waves and the traditional Japanese graphic of geisha with octopus to bring out the overall atmosphere.
The design used customized, decorative light features mounted on the ceiling to showcase the continuity and projection of the waves that enhance the dynamic feel. The bar's interior was collaborated with a well-known Taiwanese tattoo artist to finish the Japanese geisha graphic which perfectly conveys the oriental style.
The project started in February 2018 and was completed in June 2018. The main research of the project focused on how to connect western and eastern culture by using several materials and different ways. Linkform design focuses on making details to convey the dynamic concept and make the entire space visually multilevel while making sure the company still abides by the rules of having construction in a department store and finished on schedule.
Kung-Chao Huang, a Taiwanese interior designer, has been awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2020 for the Aplus project. The designer has done many commercial designs and incorporates interior design into brand identity, transforming and improving customer experience in terms of spatial design.
