QUAD studio unveils a 7000 sqm Cultural Centre in Guangdong, China, reinterpreting the history and culture of an ancient village

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Medieval Rethink by QUAD studio

QUAD studio introduces "Medieval Rethink," a 7000 sqm Cultural Centre in Guangdong, China, designed to showcase the history and culture of a 900-year-old village while bridging the gap between the old and the new. The contemporary architectural marvel is centered around the Ding Qi Stone, an ancient rock formation symbolizing the village's origin.

The Cultural Centre, serving as a cultural exhibition space, reimagines the medieval environment in a modern setting, attracting visitors from across the region. The design focuses on creating a multipurpose hall as the primary function, surrounded by other facilities, forming internal streets and courtyards filled with natural landscapes.

QUAD studio's innovative approach, which earned them the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, reflects a deep understanding of the village's history and culture, resulting in a transformative architectural masterpiece.
