Chao Yen Chen's innovative interior design for a real estate sales center in Pingtung City, Taiwan, challenges the conventional with its circular and curved design methods, creating a smooth, relaxing, and fashionable indoor environment.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chao Yen Chen's "Unconventional Waltz" is a groundbreaking interior design project that redefines the traditional real estate sales center. Completed in June 2019 in Pingtung City, Taiwan, this futuristic space spans 622.9 square meters and stands out for its unique circular and curved design elements.
The interior design of the sales center is a testament to Chen's ability to reconcile harsh and delicate features, creating a comfortable and inviting indoor environment. The unconventional design principles employed in this project, including the use of wood veneers, metal tassels, and curved shapes, have transformed the stereotypical impression of real estate sales centers.
The round reception counter, adorned with Apollo grey marbles and wire brushed veneers, sets the tone for the space, manifesting a sense of accumulation through its roundness. The curved walls, reception booths, and decorative elements throughout the center contribute to a fluid and harmonious ambiance, reminiscent of a futuristic commercial space.
Chen's design team, led by Director Chen Pei Jung, overcame significant challenges posed by the long, narrow site of the building and its structural beams. The use of curved wood walls and hallways has converted this potentially oppressive space into an elegant and enlivening environment, captivating visitors and clients alike.
The Unconventional Waltz has garnered recognition and acclaim, receiving the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This accolade celebrates Chen's prodigious talent and the remarkable impact of this innovative design on the world of interior architecture.
