Chu Liang Chih's "Impressions of the City" project, completed in August 2021 in Taipei City, Taiwan, reimagines idle miniature single-family buildings into a vibrant office space, winning the prestigious A' Design Award in 2023.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chu Liang Chih's "Impressions of the City" project is a remarkable transformation of idle miniature single-family buildings into a vibrant office space. Faced with the challenge of an old-fashioned apartment in Taipei's cultural and educational district, the designer integrated contemporary functional requirements with professional ingenuity, creating a professional and comfortable work and negotiation space.
The office's facade along the long street features a collage of white wave boards and stained glass bricks, ensuring privacy, retaining lighting, and creating a beautiful visual memory point. The multicolor tiled glass brick wall in the conference room becomes a focal point with light, adding a finishing touch to the refined interior with bright colors.
The exterior is constructed with off-white washed stone walls, transparent glass brick low walls, and gardens co-constructed with sandblasted walls. The 70m2 space features hexagonal collage floor tiles echoing the company's logo, creating a minimalist yet vibrant atmosphere.
Chu Liang Chih's design redefines the narrow office space, combining bright colors with translucent sliding doors and reeded glass partitions to create a more transparent visual extension, amplifying the perception experience of the narrow spaces.
The "Impressions of the City" project won the Iron A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach that meets professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.
