Joey Chang's Crazy and Cozy project, a residential design inspired by the Memphis movement, was completed in May 2020 in Taipei City, Taiwan, and has been awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2022.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Joey Chang's Crazy and Cozy project breaks the conventional appearance of residential design by integrating the Memphis movement, resulting in a rebellious, diverse, and characterful space. The design features strong and saturated color collisions, creating an extraordinary housing imagination that harmoniously presents a unique living experience.
The unique properties of the design lie in the emphasis on light and shadow changes, with aqua blue and light pink colors echoing each other to create delicate layers of feeling. The use of bigger storage cabinets not only provides functional placement but also adds consistency to the overall style, while the groove line technique adds more levels of feeling to the space.
The design was realized through the integration of aqua blue and light pink colors, suitable curvy shape modifications, Memphis style furnishings, and hand-painted stripes, resulting in a harmonious and symmetrical spatial design with multiple changes.
