Residential Interior Design Inspired by Flight and Blessings
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JUN-BIN HUANG's "Birds Flying High" is a residential interior design project that takes inspiration from the concept of flight and blessings. The design, completed in October 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan, is a refurbishment project aimed at providing a space filled with warm blessings for the younger generation, who are expected to become the heirs of the property. The design features a unique incorporation of flight-themed elements, indirect illumination, and thoughtful details throughout the 149 sqm space.
The core concept of the design revolves around creating a living space that maximizes contentment for the younger generation. From the curvy ceiling design to the flying-themed wallpaper in the bedrooms, the space is adorned with elements that symbolize flight and vitality. The design also incorporates flexible furnishing and detailed material selection to ensure a warm and adaptable living environment for the children.
Realized with a focus on longevity and adaptability, the interior is painted with zero VOC paint and features detachable, repairable, and movable furniture to accommodate children's growth. The space is designed to maximize comfort and relaxation, with broadened doorways and hallways for free movement and the inclusion of a home cinema and projector in the living room for family entertainment.
The project faced challenges in layout restructure and pipework rearrangement, which were overcome to create an intuitive playground for the young ones to explore. The design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding creativity and incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
