Jan Sikora's Forge Loft project transforms an old forge into a unique apartment, embracing the industrial history of a 19th-century factory.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jan Sikora's Forge Loft project is a remarkable transformation of an old forge located in Leszno, Poland, into a stunning apartment. The loft, part of a 19th-century Factory of Pumps, is a testament to the industrial history of the building and its role in the technological sequence of the factory. The design is characterized by a striking contrast between the raw, industrial elements of the original space and the modern, elegant additions that create a harmonious composition.
The loft spans 120 square meters and features original brick walls, a concrete floor, and other raw elements, providing a unique backdrop for the contemporary design elements. The project, which began in February 2020 and was completed in November 2020, presented various challenges, including the need for meticulous control during implementation and navigating the complexities of working on the project during a pandemic.
Jan Sikora's Forge Loft project has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021, highlighting its exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and innovative approach. The project stands as a testament to Sikora's dedication to creating unique spaces that celebrate history while embracing modern design principles.
