FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ke-HsuanYang's 'Corridor' project is a unique restaurant and bar concept located in Luodong, Taiwan. The project, completed in June 2019, is a transformation of an old house into a vibrant restaurant and bar, offering light meals and freshly brewed beer. The space is designed to attract out-of-towners who visit Luodong on weekends and holidays, providing an alternative to the Luodong night market for travelers.
The restaurant and bar consist of two distinct spaces - a small bar in the front and a sunny dining area at the back. The designers cleverly use spatial characteristics and design elements to combine the two spaces, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. The space also features an art gallery, making the entire restaurant feel like a small gallery space.
To provide a warm space for family and friends to gather, the designers created a transparent glasshouse in the back, allowing natural light to flood the space. The flooring is made of groundwork and wooden flooring, while the roof is made of white insulation tin, creating a space close to nature, greenery, and sunlight.
The 'Corridor' project faced challenges due to the rainy climate of Luodong, but the designers overcame these obstacles by implementing innovative solutions to ensure the success of the project. The design has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2023, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation.
