Mateusz Zajkowski's The Suburban House is a bold response to the challenges of urbanized suburbs, offering a unique take on residential architecture, completed in 2020 near Warsaw.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mateusz Zajkowski's The Suburban House is a striking example of residential architecture, featuring two distinct cuboidal forms that challenge the traditional norms of suburban housing. The upper timber-covered form contrasts with the white lower structure, creating a visually compelling design. The deliberate lack of large windows ensures maximum privacy, with the main openings strategically positioned to offer stunning views of the surroundings.
The construction of The Suburban House involved innovative techniques, including reinforced concrete for the basement and brick with elevation panels for the ground floor. The interior features oak wood flooring, seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces.
This 400m2 house, completed in 2020, is a testament to Zajkowski's ability to create a simple yet bold architectural statement in the midst of chaotic urban development. The project, which began in 2013, was a response to the need for a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing residence in the heavily urbanized suburbs of Warsaw.
