Rosewood Hotel Bangkok, a 30-storey architectural wonder, is a tribute to Thai culture, designed by Celia Chu Design & Associates and completed in April 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rosewood Hotel Bangkok stands as a 30-storey architectural marvel, inspired by the traditional Thai greeting, the Wai gesture. The modern silhouette creatively expresses the Thai spirit, emphasizing rich Thai culture through interior design elements and exquisite water features that pay homage to Bangkok's aquatic heritage.
The building reflects the traditional Thai greeting, in the Wai gesture. Dig in further, we see the interior as one grand mansion, which shows Thai culture in various ways. The design process is like writing a novel about a prestigious family and their love of Thai. They collect each part of the culture they adore and place it preciously around the building. Each room and space in the hotel is one chapter of a book.
Many materials and craftsmanship are locally sourced to reflect Thai culture, such as wood carving panels for the reception counter and bamboo lacquer panels used in the cafe. The hotel features 159 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant & bar, multi-function event space, spa, swimming pool, fitness center, and a cafe. The guestrooms fuse modern interiors with panoramic views of the metropolis, offering a residential experience. The property's suite collection includes the loft-style Manor Suite, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and an unparalleled perspective on the Bangkok skyline.
Destined to establish a new design icon for the Kingdom's capital and the world stage, Rosewood Bangkok's contemporary residential styling allows each guest to be welcomed and treated with personalized attention, reflecting the Rosewood brand's philosophy.
The architecture presented challenges, with each floor having different conditions and sizes, resulting in no two floors sharing the same layout. The design team overcame this by maintaining a continuous design language throughout the building. The tilted facade and curtain system were also specially designed to fulfill the unique architectural features.
With the desire to build an interior design practice that offered practical solutions in the form of elegance and style, Celia Chu Design & Associates has established itself as one of the leading design firms in Taiwan, serving an international roster of clients in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. The studio's combination of inspired creativity and comprehensive design strategy has been its main competitive edge, with a focus on achieving a balance of trendsetting yet timeless design.
