Chen Yung cheng's residential design, Paganini Rhapsody, seamlessly integrates accessibility and artistic expression, drawing inspiration from the renowned Paganini Liszt La Campanella and completed in Taiwan in October 2020.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chen Yung cheng's Paganini Rhapsody is a residential villa designed for a 231 sq.m. site, featuring innovative elements that redefine modern living. The original stairs have been transformed into ramps, ensuring future accessibility for wheelchair users. The striking red structural reinforcement pillars add both strength and aesthetic appeal to the space. Additionally, hidden living rooms and separated metal plates, reminiscent of golden keys and strings, contribute to the design's unique character.
The realization of this design involved meticulous attention to detail, utilizing metal plates for surface protection and employing CNC cutting for precise fabrication. The combination of different reflective surfaces on the facade adds depth and visual interest to the structure.
Chen Yung cheng's design interaction focuses on optimizing space and functionality. By simplifying compartments and strategically redistributing door and window placements, the design enhances natural light and ventilation. The barrier-free ramp provides easy access to the living room, while the multi-level layout creates a sense of spaciousness and dimension.
Undertaking this project presented various challenges, including the conversion of high-rise steps into barrier-free ramps and the structural calculations for the innovative design elements. However, the result is a harmonious blend of accessibility and artistry, with the design paying homage to the Paganini Rhapsody theme through its thoughtful integration of melody and art into the indoor space.
