Huayue Palace: A Unique Private House Design

Hui Xie, a prominent designer from Chengdu, China, has unveiled the Huayue Palace project, a 1000 square meter private house that reflects health, elegance, and warmth, while also achieving the resonance of art and the echo of dreams. The design features a high ceiling structure between two stories, invisible transparent wings, and 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a fluid rhythm and a boundless view. The project, located in Chengdu, China, started in October 2020 and was completed in June 2022.

Faced with the space’s original relatively heterogeneous structure, poor ventilation, and lighting, the designer has struck a balance by dismantling space structure through functional layering and scenario-based presets. An electric skylight above the workspace, radiant heating and cooling, and a fresh air system ensure a constant temperature and humidity environment that is clean, energy-efficient, noise-reducing, and safe, making the healthy home more pleasant and livable.

The project was awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements, making the world a better place.
