Cheng Zhang unveils the unique "Maoshe" themed resort hotel, offering a serene escape from the city amidst the mountains of Chongqing
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Cheng Zhang introduces "Hermit Huts," a resort hotel inspired by ancient thatched huts in the mountains of western China. The project aims to create a space and time environment reminiscent of traditional small mountain villages, providing users with maximum inner peace. The resort hotel is a short-term rental, offering a beautiful mountain scenery for travelers and vacationers to enjoy.
The project, completed in October 2018, spans 470 square meters and is located in Chongqing. The design incorporates traditional craftsmanship and old wood to create a pure old-age living environment, allowing users to experience a lifestyle away from the modern city. The architectural space conveys a leisure experience away from the city, harmoniously merging with the natural surroundings. The resort hotel officially opened at the end of October 2018, offering guests a spacious living space with an independent garden.
Challenges in the project included the use of old wood for all furniture and woodwork, requiring experienced traditional craftsmen to complete on-site work. Additionally, the construction process involved manual hoisting of original oak, increasing the difficulty and manufacturing period. The copyright for the project belongs to Cheng Zhang, who is the design director of Chongqing Zhuzao Engineering and Design Co., Ltd.
