Award-winning designer Ling-Fang Huang transforms an old apartment into a celestial oasis for a famous astrologist in Taipei, Taiwan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Award-winning designer Ling-Fang Huang has reimagined a 152 m² old apartment in Taipei, Taiwan, into a celestial oasis known as the House of the Mystic Art. The owner, a famous astrologist, required a space that seamlessly blended her personal and professional life, including hosting live-streamed horoscope talk shows with celebrity guests. The challenges of working with an old apartment of three decades, including a maximum height under the beam of 2.13 m, were ingeniously overcome to create a space that exudes an open and airy ambiance, allowing for additional greenery and natural light.
Utilizing mineral paint, metal members, stone, wood, stainless steel, Japanese ta-ta-mi, tile, glass, carpet, and plants, the design team, led by Ling-Fang Huang, meticulously re-planned the floor layout, addressed structural issues, and strategically selected materials and furniture to maximize the space and natural lighting. The project, which began in July 2018 and concluded in April 2019, was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2020 for its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
Ling-Fang Huang, the founder of FU-GE, has been a savvy veteran in the industry for 16 years, with a keen sensibility and the know-how to push the boundaries of creating beautiful homes from the inside. Her interior design philosophy aims to help people discover their sense of personal identity and repurpose it into their lives, creating spaces that quietly exude unique energy to the inhabitants.
