Yusuke Kinoshita's groundbreaking design for EN Skincare in Paris combines Japanese hospitality with 18th-century architecture to redefine beauty retail.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yusuke Kinoshita's visionary design for EN Skincare's new Paris store seamlessly blends Japanese hospitality with 18th-century architecture, creating a unique retail experience that redefines the concept of beauty. The store, located at 7 Rue de Condé, 75006 Paris, opened its doors to the public in July 2019, offering a captivating journey through the world of skincare.
The store's design draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of "En," which translates to "beauty," "circle," and "connection." Circular partitions, crafted from polished brass, gently guide patrons through the space, encouraging discovery and curiosity. The ground floor features bright, minimal spaces adorned with curving brass partitions and furniture, while the basement showcases the building's history with exposed stone walls and a vaulted ceiling.
Using a combination of traditional Japanese hospitality and innovative design, the space invites visitors to embark on a winding path, enhancing their expectations and creating a truly immersive experience. The design challenges the traditional open-plan layout, encouraging patrons to explore and discover each treatment area in a unique and engaging manner.
Yusuke Kinoshita's design for the EN Skincare store in Paris was awarded the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its exceptional innovation and contribution to societal wellbeing. The design not only advances the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology but also exhibits transcendent excellence, making the world a better place.
