Sen Yuan Lai's Artistic Home Among Trees, a Japanese-style public space, wins Silver A' Design Award for Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2023.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Artistic Home Among Trees, a public space designed by Sen Yuan Lai, is a serene and majestic space located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The design draws inspiration from Japanese aesthetics, integrating natural materials and Eastern craftsmanship to create a harmonious environment.
The public space features locally sourced hardwood installation artworks, carefully selected to showcase exclusive Eastern craftsmanship. The verdant front courtyard leads into the building, with a symmetrical floor plan and a calming color scheme constructed with dark-brown hardwood and natural stone, creating a majestic space for greeting and receiving guests.
The space includes a gallery hallway connecting different sections, an indoor swimming pool, a multifunctional space, and a reading room. Wooden sculptures with themes of radiance, ascension, cohesion, reunion, and harvest serve as auspicious statement pieces, delineating artistic conceptions and prospects for a future life.
The project was completed in December 2021 and covers an area of 5487.44m2. The design team includes Yung-Chen Chen, Chih-Cheng Chen, Wei-Yan Shao, and Jing-Jiun Chen. The design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award for Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
