Urban Regeneration Inspires LnP Architects' Renovation of JF Modern Shopping Mall

LnP Architects has revealed the completion of the renovation project for the JF Modern Shopping Mall, now known as Yinchuan Jianfa Modern City, located in the core business district of Jiefang West Road, Yinchuan. The project, which commenced in July 2020, has been transformed into a modern city life leader, drawing inspiration from the concept of Urban Regeneration. The design concept focuses on integrating the central shopping mall, interactive experience place, and a roof winter sunshine garden, aiming to bring vitality to the city and create new business models.

The renovation project, scheduled for completion in September 2021, encompasses a total GFA of 116,456 square meters, including 53,031 square meters of retail area and a 1,700 square meter roof garden. The facade area of the project spans 16,000 square meters, featuring a striking hyperboloid effect with aluminum plates, achieved through the application of low emissivity glass and a vertical facade system to enhance energy efficiency while maintaining the original structure.

The revitalized design aims to provide an enhanced shopping experience, with carefully directed pedestrian flow from the main street to the roof garden, creating a captivating journey for visitors. The project has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
