FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chloe Liew's Avenue Green Sheshan kindergarten design is a testament to her innovative approach to early education spaces. The design, completed in April 2019 in Shanghai, China, is a captivating blend of form and function, specifically tailored to cater to the needs of young children and educators. The space is intentionally crafted to resemble a huge toy, featuring surprising elements such as a curved slide at the center of the reception waiting area, promoting children's curiosity and self-initiated exploration.
The kindergarten boasts different zones offering various architectural terrains and structures, accommodating dynamic and quiet activities. The use of wood and a light color scheme not only conveys a message of sustainability and environmental friendliness but also creates a warm and homely atmosphere, enhancing the overall learning environment.
One of the standout features of the design is the incorporation of a cafe-like facility for interaction, providing an open area for parents to wait and rest while children engage in playful activities. Additionally, the use of slanted window structures challenges children's visual experience, while the utilization of natural sunlight creates a sense of peacefulness and coziness within the interior space.
Chloe Liew's design vision for the kindergarten was to create a place that feels like home and serves as a transitional paradise between the home and the outside world. The large open, bright, and pleasant area allows children to freely engage in various activities, fostering a sense of ownership and safety within the space.
