Kenan Tuzi presents the only Olympic museum in the region, commemorating the XIV Winter Olympics in Sarajevo 1984
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Designer Kenan Tuzi has unveiled a remarkable exhibition, the only Olympic museum in the region, commemorating the XIV Winter Olympics in Sarajevo 1984. The museum, located in a historical building, combines sport and art to tell the story of the Sarajevo Olympics through sports equipment, historical documents, photographs, video documentation, and medals.
This unique space aims to evoke emotions and memories of the event itself, emphasizing the recognizability of graphic motifs, colors, and styles from the 80s. The project covers about 200 square meters and incorporates the Olympic Academy's participation in the development and affirmation of Olympic values and spirit.
The museum was heavily destroyed during the war in 1992, and the project faced the challenge of reconstructing elements and recreating the look and feel of that time. Despite these challenges, the museum offers new experiences for visitors while preserving the memory and atmosphere of the '84 Olympics.
