Sooyou Beauty Salon: A Fusion of Art and Functionality
AD ARCHITECTURE presents Sooyou, a captivating beauty salon located in Qunli New District, Harbin, China. The salon, designed by Chief Designer Xie Peihe and the design team, is a pioneering experiment in commercial space design. Inspired by the constant fission of cells in the human body, the spatial design aims to evoke underlying body memories, creating a sense of mystery and fun within the space.
The salon's unique spatial structures, realized using wooden splints, reflect the fission of cells through geometric shapes and basic lines. The interplay of straight lines and curves outlines large geometric blocks, while the use of dark hues and strategic illumination creates a dramatic visual effect, stimulating emotional liberation and offering calming experiences.
Despite facing challenges such as a limited budget and the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, the design team successfully translated the concept into a differentiated space that provides privacy and rich experiences for visitors.
