Measure Mode Company Limited introduces "The Endeavourers," a revolutionary kindergarten design project that aims to inspire and nurture young minds in Hong Kong.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Measure Mode Company Limited proudly presents "The Endeavourers," a groundbreaking kindergarten design project that seeks to transform educational spaces for young learners in Hong Kong. The project, which commenced in June 2019 and concluded in August 2020, encompasses a 1730 square feet area and is the first phase of a comprehensive renovation and design initiative. The primary goal of "The Endeavourers" is to provide children from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds with an enriching and stimulating environment that fosters creativity, imagination, and holistic growth.
The design concept draws inspiration from the world of illusion, incorporating abstract graphic elements such as graphic doors, stairs, clouds, and winds on the ceiling to create a fantastical ambiance. This innovative approach aims to spark children's imagination and cognitive abilities, offering a warm and welcoming space within the constraints of limited accommodation in Hong Kong. Notably, the project prioritizes the coordination of color and space, with a particular focus on the teaching kitchen, hall, and reception areas.
Moreover, "The Endeavourers" places a strong emphasis on safety and health, utilizing E0 grade plywood and antibacterial materials for furniture, as well as medical-grade non-textured plastic roll flooring to ensure a hygienic and secure environment for children. The design also incorporates diatomaceous earth for walls, a natural material known for its air-purifying and damp-proofing properties.
One of the key highlights of the project is the multifunctional kitchen space, which not only serves as a cooking school but also houses a small picture book library where children can engage in storytelling and reading activities. Additionally, the spacious corridor features 80 pairs of children's shoe cabinets to promote hygiene, while the reception hall provides diverse functional areas for effective communication between students, parents, and teachers.
Despite facing budget constraints as a non-profit organization project, "The Endeavourers" successfully overcame various design and engineering challenges to realize its vision of creating an inspiring and inclusive learning environment for young children. The project's commitment to excellence and innovation has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2021, underscoring its practical, well-designed, and industry-leading approach to educational space design.
