ChungSheng Chen, a renowned designer, introduces the 2030 City Blueprint, an educational learning toy designed to promote sustainable development goals for preschool children. This innovative toy aims to cultivate awareness of sustainable urban development from an early age, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2030 City Blueprint stands out with its focus on sustainable city development, utilizing recyclable corrugated fiberboard as the primary material. The toy comprises various components, including basic building blocks, wind turbines, and terrain puzzles, fostering children's understanding of city development processes and promoting hand-eye coordination and autonomy.
Utilizing laser cutting and hand-painting techniques, the toy is designed to engage children in a play-based learning experience, encouraging them to assemble the baseboard according to the silhouette figure configured on the blueprint and stack houses according to educational illustrations.
ChungSheng Chen and his team, including ChenYu Pan, YiLin Chen, SihCi Huang, and ChihLing Kuo from Tainan University of Technology, meticulously overcame challenges related to the unique material and color plan, resulting in an innovative and eco-friendly educational toy.
ChungSheng Chen's 2030 City Blueprint is set to debut at the Young Designer's Exhibition (Yodex) in June 2022 at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall, offering a compelling and interactive educational tool for young children.
