Fengtang Art Education, designed by Jason Cao, reimagines art training space with an origami-inspired design, creating a modern and minimalist environment that fosters creativity and learning. The project, located in Qingdao, was completed in March 2019 and has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jason Cao's innovative design for Fengtang Art Education sets a new standard for art training spaces. The 490-square meter, three-floor structure features a minimalist color scheme of black, gray, and white, reminiscent of pencil sketching hues, and incorporates polygonal origami elements throughout the space.
The design not only beautifies the space but also focuses on humanism, aiming to create an environment that respects and inspires both teachers and students. The use of on-site arc welding to shape steel plates for the stairs on the third floor demonstrates the fusion of art and technology, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and safety.
Furthermore, the design includes open-type spaces such as reading sections, resting areas, and business discussion sections, providing a conducive environment for learning and interaction. The "paper planes" guiding movement within the space symbolize the transformation of students from a piece of paper into an airplane, soaring to new heights.
Jason Cao's dedication to creating an educational space that reflects humanistic care and stimulates artistic pursuit is evident in every aspect of the Fengtang Art Education design.
